Made in the USA

We at Backcountry North
listen to what our customers have to say. Lately many of you have requested that we carry more products that are made in the
United States, and we couldn’t agree more. We are working hard to bring you more USA-made products while still keeping
the quality of our products high and the costs as reasonable as possible. For most consumers, when given the choice between two identical items - one made in China, the other in the
U.S. - most would buy the cheaper item. However, we have noticed that many of our customers have made the choice
to buy items that are made right here even though the cost may be higher. We applaud your decision and
have followed suit to carry the brands that keep their business domestic. We
feel that the quality of our products is of the utmost importance. After all, we deal in equipment that has to function in
situations where equipment failure could be the difference between life and death. Our next priority is
to keep our prices competitive. The old adage “you have to pay to play” really hits home with us. Any product that we stock needs to fit in both of those categories.
It would be against who we are to stock an inexpensive product that doesn’t meet our exacting standards, just as it
would to stock an extremely expensive item whos cost exceeds its benefits. It is impossible for
all of our products to be made stateside, but when possible we will always make the commitment to support our country and
our community. The following companies are manufacturing domestically and we proudly represent them at Backcountry North.

Fisher Space Pens In
1965, Paul Fisher developed the Space Pen. This particular pen is reliable in the freezing cold, desert heat, underwater and
upside down due to it's pressurized ink cartridge that does not rely on gravity to work. The Space Pen became named so,
as it's qualities were everything that the astronauts were looking for to replace pencils. In October 1968, the Fisher AG-7
Space Pen was used by NASA in the Apollo 7 mission. All Fisher pens are designed and manufactured in the United States, with
a factory store open to the public in Boulder City, Nevada.
